Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker featured on latest Star Wars collectible coin

Luke Skywalker™ is the seventh character to feature in the Star Wars Classic coin collection.

As a simple moisture farmer on the desert planet Tatooine, Luke Skywalker often dreams of galactic adventure amongst the stars. When a distress call from Rebel leader Princess Leia Organa places Luke in the midst of the epic struggle between the Rebel Alliance and the evil Empire, Luke meets the old Jedi Knight Obi-Wan-Kenobi. Obi-Wan tells Luke of the mystical powers of the Force and instructs him in the ways of the Jedi. When Luke rescues the Princess, Obi-Wan falls at the hands of his old apprentice, Darth Vader, and Luke must continue his training under the tutelage of the wise Jedi Master Yoda. In an effort to turn Luke to the dark side, Darth Vader lures the young disciple away from his training and reveals that he is Luke's father, Anakin Skywalker. As the last of the Jedi and the only hope for the galaxy, Luke must face his darkest fears in a deadly confrontation with his father and his father's Master, the evil Emperor. While the final battle rages between the Rebels and the Empire, the young Jedi awakens the last remnant of good within his father, and in the end, Anakin Skywalker re-emerges to sacrifice his own life to save his son. Anakin's redemption and Luke's personal triumph are echoed in the victorious celebration of freedom and justice throughout the galaxy.

Hi there, NZ Mint does not disclose details of future releases prior to the release date, including details of collection size etc. There are some exceptions, e.g. where we release a specific set over a number of months, but these are rare.
