Pure Silver Foil commemorates the sought-after comic book that started it all!

We are delighted to announce that our partnership with DC Comics has extended to a Pure Silver Foil collection of sought-after comic book covers. Made from 35g fine silver, this first release is for Action Comics #1 from June 1938, the comic book that started it all!

The first issue of the original run of the comic book series Action Comics was an anthology that contained eleven features — with the most notable being the debut of Superman, and his love interest Lois Lane. Written by Jerry Siegel and illustrated by Joe Shuster, the 13-page story opens with Superman's crash-landing on Earth and goes on to show him saving an innocent woman from the electric chair, stopping a man from beating his wife and going on a date with (and later rescuing) Lois. This Man of Steel captured the hearts of America and went on to become the world's most iconic super hero!

Although originally published in the hundreds of thousands, the drive for paper during WWII, over-zealous parents, and the ravages of time combined to reduce the number of known surviving copies of Action Comics #1 to less than two hundred. Now widely considered the beginning of the super hero genre it has become the most valuable comic book of all time. In fact, it is the only comic book to have sold for more than $3 million for a single original copy.

This 35g fine silver collectible incorporates both colour and engraving and is presented in a clever acrylic holder, designed to frame the foil and allow for easy display. Packaged inside a complementary themed carrier, this makes the ultimate gift for any DC Comics, super hero or Superman fan.

With original copies almost unobtainable, don't delay in placing your order for this precious metal replica!
