The Last Son of Krypton celebrates 80 years!

We are excited to announce that we have teamed up with DC Comics to bring you the Superman 80th Anniversary Silver Coin Note Collection! This special collection, which includes a Collector's Album and six pure silver coin notes, features iconic Superman comic book covers through the years.

The most recognised super hero in pop culture and a universal icon, Superman means different things to the many diverse people he inspires. Superman's first appearance was in Action Comics #1, in which we see baby Kal-El of Krypton being sent down to Earth and growing up to become the hero we all know and love. Throughout the years, our beloved hero undergoes a variety of changes, with new powers added in Action Comics #242 in 1958, a new career in Action Comics #419 in 1972, a reboot of the character in Adventures of Superman #424 in 1987 and a new "Superman Reborn" storyline in 2017.

Sent to Earth as a baby to escape the fate of his dying planet, Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by Jonathan and Martha Kent and was given the name Clark Kent. Growing up in the small town of Smallville, Kansas, Clark devoted his life to helping others using the abilities he had gained from the Earth's Sun. Upon moving to Metropolis in his adulthood, he became the hero known as Superman, while maintaining his secret identity as a reporter for the Daily Planet.

These 5g pure silver coin notes feature striking images of historic Superman comic book covers, detailing Superman's evolution through the years from 1939 to 2017. The design is brought to life through the combination of engraving and colour printing. Details of each note's authenticity are printed on the reverse of the album's protective cover.

The obverse of each coin note features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and they are legal tender in Niue.

This hardcover album features a page for each of the six notes in the collection - which will include covers from Superman #1, Action Comics #242, Action Comics #419, Adventures of Superman #424, Action Comics #1 (New 52, Variant Cover) and Action Comics #976 (Rebirth, Variant Cover). The album is Superman-themed, with every page specifically designed to complement each comic book cover, including a short commentary highlighting Superman's evolution through the years.

There are only 50,000 coin notes with this complimentary album available worldwide, so you will need to be fast to get yours!
