The day has finally arrived, and we couldn’t be more excited! Our first coin for Marvel is here! Made of 1oz pure silver and part of our COMIX™ Coin series, it features the cover of Amazing Fantasy #15 – the comic that introduced Spider-Man™ to the world!
On June 5, 1962, a comic book called Amazing Fantasy #15 changed the world. The issue told a genre-defining story about a kid named Peter Parker, his run-in with a radioactive spider, and the death of his uncle. Instantly regarded as a brilliant first issue, the story of Amazing Fantasy #15 has stood the test of time and is now widely thought of as one of the greatest character origins in all of fiction.
This brilliant coin displays a coloured image of the Amazing Fantasy #15 cover. Some parts have been left engraved to show off the lovely pure silver - one of these parts being the 12 cent price tag… in 2021 a CGC 9.6 graded copy sold for a whopping $3.6 million! To mimic the comic book, the coin has been crafted into a rectangular shape and uniquely coloured on all four sides to represent the spine and pages!
As legal tender, the Public Seal of Niue is engraved on the obverse. The worldwide mintage is limited to just 5,000 – this superb piece is not one to miss!
The coin is presented in an eye-catching comic-themed box with a large display window. This piece will certainly stand out in your coin collection! Printed on the back is a Certificate of Authenticity and the coin’s unique number in the limited mintage.
