HARRY POTTER™ – Hogwarts™ Crest 1oz Silver Coin
Hogwarts™ School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is the primary setting for the first six books in the HARRY POTTER™ series, and today we are excited to reveal a new 1oz pure silver coin featuring the Hogwarts Crest.
The school was born from the dream of four of the greatest witches and wizards, to create a school where young people of the wizarding world could study and be trained in the magical arts. The central shield of the coin is divided into four, with each quarter representing the house of one of the school’s founders: Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin.
Each house has its own mascot and colour. For Gryffindor it’s a lion and the colour red. For Slytherin a serpent on a green background. The colour blue and a raven graces the quarter for Ravenclaw while Hufflepuff is denoted by a badger on its house colour of yellow. A scroll engraved at the bottom features the Hogwarts motto ‘Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus' which translates to 'Never tickle a sleeping dragon’ – wise words indeed! The legal tender status of the coin is confirmed by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II effigy on the obverse side.
This unique, shaped and coloured coin arrives in a HARRY POTTER themed case which includes a large window to allow you to easily display this precious collectible without removing it from the packaging. Although once opened the coin has a further protective case, with a special insert moulded to its shape, to allow for handling.
