Our Street Fighter™ Chibi® Coin Series continues with Ken Masters. Ken made his first appearance in 1987 in the original Street Fighter™ and has appeared in every major Street Fighter game to date. He is characterized as the former sparring partner, best friend and rival of Ryu.
Ken and Ryu both trained under the Ansatsuken master Gouken. Although the two are equally skilled Ken has always been the polar opposite of his surrogate brother. While Ryu remained stoic and reserved, Ken grew more unpredictable and extroverted, visually represented by his flame-based attacks and red gi.
The coin has been shaped and coloured to resemble Ken, right down to his long and spiky black eyebrows and his dyed blonde hair. Naturally he wears his red karate gi, now somewhat tattered! The Ian Rank Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II found on the obverse of the coin confirms it as legal tender.
The Street Fighter-themed box includes a large window which allows you to easily display this unique collectible without having to remove it from the packaging. To complement the coin, there are pictures of Ken as he appears in the game along the sides of the box.
There will only be a total of 2,000 coins available for sale, so if you are ‘Team Ken’ don’t wait to order - you will feel like a winner if you get one!
The first 100 coins in the mintage are also available as an authenticated Premium Number Selection and packaged in a secure, click-close acrylic display case. A label reinforcing the coin’s low number is displayed on the front of the case. Whether on display or in hand, now you can keep your prized collectible in pristine condition.
