The coin shows Belle in her glamorous yellow ballgown constructed with a simply designed bodice, wrapped off-the-shoulder sleeves, a wide-hemmed floor-length skirt made of 8 panels with a scalloped edging, along with matching long yellow opera gloves.
Although the book-loving heroine of the film had goals and aspirations beyond romance and marriage, the romance between Belle and the Beast could not be denied. Few moments in animation linger in the mind as vividly as the ballroom sequence in Beauty and the Beast. The seamless combination of music, hand-drawn animation, and computer technology for the ballroom environment creates an unforgettable scene. Both Belle and the Beast’s deepest emotions are revealed as they dance around the floor, though neither says a word.
The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II found on the coin confirms its legal tender status, despite its shape and colour. A Certificate of Authenticity is printed on the box along with the coin’s unique serial number.
