New Zealand Mint is pleased to announce the release of Golden Dog Blessing: Chinese Zodiac Commemorative Silver Coin Notes.

The set consists of 12 legal tender notes with denomination, and each note is minted with 10g 999 fine silver, with a total 120g 999 fine silver. The obverse of each silver note has the denomination of 1 dollar, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the year 2018.

The main figure on the reverse of the silver notes is the zodiac dog painting produced and exclusively authorized by the great artist Mr. Zhou Ling Zhao, who is nearly 100 years old and, has designed the 2nd, 3rd and 4th set of legal tender banknotes of the People's Republic of China.

The reverse design features a famous image of the dog to celebrate the Chinese Zodiac. The background on the reverse of the silver notes consists of Chinese culture elements such as bat patterns, Ruyi auspicious clouds patterns, which contain good blessings on good wishes, good luck and good fortune.

The silver notes are authorized by New Zealand Mint and are legal tender in Niue.
