The year is 1936 and the intrepid archaeologist Indiana Jones sets out in search of the fabled Lost Ark of the Covenant, racing a bitter rival and his cohorts to the prize. Over the course of a hair-raising adventure, Indy endures explosions, spiders, snakes, booby traps, and bad guys in his quest to save the holy relic.
This coin is coloured and uniquely shaped with added relief. The design certainly does justice to this infinitely cool hero! As seen in the classic 1981 adventure film, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, he is shown wearing his iconic fedora hat, leather jacket, shoulder bag and holding his bullwhip. The gilded version is gold-plated with mirror-finish and frosted details – now that’s an artefact worth fighting for!
The obverse displays the Public Seal of Niue, confirming it as a legal tender coin. There are just 2,000 available worldwide – only 200 are gilded!
