On June 5, 1962, a comic book called Amazing Fantasy #15 changed the world. The issue told a genre-defining story about a kid named Peter Parker, his run-in with a radioactive spider, and the death of his uncle. Instantly regarded as a brilliant first issue, the story of Amazing Fantasy #15 has stood the test of time and is now widely thought of as one of the greatest character origins in all of fiction.
These brilliant coins display a coloured image of the Amazing Fantasy #15 cover. To mimic the comic book, the coins are crafted into a rectangular shape. The 1oz is uniquely coloured on all four sides to represent the spine and pages, while the 2oz has a shiny mirror-finish border.
As legal tender, the Public Seal of Niue is engraved on the obverse. The worldwide mintage is limited to 5,000 for the 1oz and just 1,000 for the 2oz!
