Did you love Street Fighter™? If you did, you’ll want to fight for this unique limited-edition, pure silver collectible coin. This specially designed piece of retrogaming memorabilia embodies the game and is housed inside a specially designed Street Fighter II™-themed box which replicates the arcade cabinet. The obverse of the coin carries the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to confirm it as legal tender.
Released as an arcade game in 1987 by the Japanese game manufacturer Capcom Company, Street Fighter gave rise to an entire genre of fighting games and spawned a multitude of sequels. This special coin incorporates the game logo on a mirror finish background, above a coloured image of Ryu and Ken, mid battle, with Ryu executing the special attack Hadoken.
Ryu debuted in the first Street Fighter as the primary playable character, with his best friend, rival, and sparring partner Ken Masters serving as the second player's character. Ryu is an all-around fighter with an intuitive array of punches and kicks and basic special moves that are easy to pick up, including the Hadoken which he is shown using here. It is a basic type of surging punch in which a fighter's willpower is utilized to focus energy into and through the palms. As the palms are thrust outwards towards the target, a surging energy wave is expelled that results in a punching force traveling through the air in the opponent's direction.
To further enhance this precious collectible, it is housed inside a specially designed Street Fighter™-themed box which replicates the arcade cabinet!
